cant change homepage

hi,
This has probably been discussed somewhere but I couldn't
locate it.
I cant get the homepage I want on loadup of IE6. A page
comes up that I have never even visited and when I go to
internet otions, the buttons to chang ethe homepage are
not accessible and the url in the homepage window is gray.
Can someone tell me what to do.
I am running on WINME

You have some spyware on your machine or some adware

that needs to be removed.

There are several free programs you can install to find
and remove this. Spybot is one or Spy Sweeper (it has a
free trial version), these will find and remove much of
this trash.
Also, ADWARE from Lavasoft can be installed to eliminate
a lot of the irritating pop-ups.
