are using just one PC, the older one is not being used for a long
time. I have bought an Mp3 player for my nice at Xmas, but the USB
port on the PC does not work. They can not use the older one because
they forgot the user password. I am using WinMe, and I am not really
familiar with the XP. What can I do to help them ?

GK said:Are you sure it's only the user password and not a system password set
in BIOS? I have never tried, but if it's just a user account password,
I'm pretty sure you could get go into the computer via safe mode as
an administrator and delete the password, or set up another account
with no password.
GK said:BTW, I just went into safe mode an took a look. You can do what I said
above in most cases, but failing that, there's a password reset wizard
available on the left side of the window that anyone can use to reset
their password.
If this isa system password, it can be bypassed as well, but requires
more hoop jumping and someone with more experience than me about
dumping CMOS blah blah.
