Hi All...

I use Outlook XP, recently I found that I can't attach zip files to my
emails...does anyone know how to solve this problem?
Is it a setting problem?

Thanks in advance...

Mary

Why can;t you attach them? What happens when you try? Do you get any error
messages? What did you change just before this started happening?

Hi Milly,

Thanks for the quick reply.
I haven't changed anything...
But it seems that when I select a zip file to be attached into the
email...it doesn't give me an option to attach...it only allows me to
open....
the zip files seem to act like a folder rather than a document...
that is the problem with attaching....

Thanks in advance.

Mary

Are you using the File->Insert and then browse to your zip file?

Yes, that is the step that I take...
For all other formats, they are all fine...I can attach .pst files
words, etc...
But zip files I can't attach...I tried drag the files and then droppin
it in, that works, but I can't attach using the way metioned.

Thanks in advance.

When I try to open a zip file, instead of allowing me to insert into th
email, it only has an option to open in the dialog box. All othe
formats that I select works, as in i can insert it but when it comes t
zip files, I can only open it. And even if I press open, it doesn't d
anything...
I tried with all different zip files and they are all like that so i
isn't because that particular one is corrupted.

Thanks in advance

Actually I have fixed the problem already...
The problem was that under the registry there was no Level1Remove key,
so all I had to do was to create that new key and then include a string
value of zip so that it allows all zip files to be attached and be
recieved as well.

Thanks for all your helps guys.
