On both computers:

1) I've inserted an autoshape into my spreadsheet. (Insert Picture
Autoshapes Heart)
2) I want to assign a macro to it. So, I right-click it.

One the "Bad" computer nothing happens.
On the "Good" computer a pop-up/ short-cut window appears with an
"assign macro..." option.

I've compared the settings on the two computers, yet I can't figure
out what I need to do to be able to assign a macro to an autoshape on
the "bad" computer. Any ideas?? Thanks,

Jim

naughty, naughty computer :)

have you put text in your heart? once you've entered text against an
autoshape the autoshape has basically two states of being - the "edit text"
state and the "edit autoshape" state.

In the "edit text" state you can't assign a macro, in the "edit autoshape"
state you can. The way that you determine which state you're in is by the
look of the frame when you right mouse click on it. If you see tiny little
diagonal lines you're in "edit text" state, if you see tiny little dots,
you're in "edit autoshape" state. To switch between states - if you're in
"edit text", click on the frame and you'll switch to "edit autoshape"
state, - if you're in "edit autoshape", click on the text and you'll switch
to "edit text".

Hope this helps
