For the past month or so I have been unable to access the
Windows Update site. I am set for automatic updates, but
around the news of the blaster worm, I decided to check
out if there were new updates. Windows Update is pinned to
my start menu, so I clicked on it, and after a lond wait--
"This page cannot be accessed." I thought that it was
traffic so I tried again over the weeks. I just read that
Zone Alarm can prevent access, so I tried shutting it
down, and reloading the page--same result.

Can anyone help?

If you are using AOL as your ISP, you need to minimize your
AOL browser and launch Internet Explorer, then visit the Windows
Update web site while using Internet Explorer.

Try the following solution from the Windows Update Troubleshooter:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/

Select:
"Problem Downloading/Installing a Software (Non-Driver) item"

Follow steps under:
"Install stops at 0% when using the AOL Browser"

While using the Internet Explorer browser, try downloading
the updates again: http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

P.S. Make sure to disable your antivirus program and close any
open programs before installing updates.

Thanks for responding. The shortcut on my start menu goes
directly to Internet explorer. This is a very recent
problem, and it is very frustrating.
