Try this. In IE, click Tools>Internet Options>Programs>Reset Web Settings.

BrIan, I spelled your name wrong. Geez I'm an idiot. No wonder I can't figure
out how to deal with my own Outlook issues!

Hi
When I click Reset Web Settings, the home page becomes MSN which I do not
like. It does not fit the whole screen and the colour is very dark. I used
to connect with my present Netscape. Internet Explorer but it suddenly
stopped. I tried to download an Office update. I do not know if this has
something to do with it. It was on the desktop but I did not install it. I
deleted it from the desktop hoping this would solve it but it didn't. I also
installed Mozilla Firefox but it is not the default browser. Hope this can
help with the diagnosis. Thanks

That's easily changed. In IE click Tools>Internet Options and set the home
page there.
It does not fit the whole screen and the colour is very
dark.

What doesn't fit the whole screen?

I don't understand this statement.

An update that was not installed cannot affect anything.

Of course not. If you didn't install it, removing the install kit from your
PC won't affect anything either, except to give you more disk space.
I also installed Mozilla Firefox but
it is not the default browser.

Decide what prowser you want to use as your default and modify the Windows
Folder Options for the "URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol" and "URL:HyperText
Transfer Protocol with Privacy" File Types to open the browser you want.

Sorry Brian looks like I got a bit eager!
But my message was that I have had this problem, tried your suggested
solution but the probelm persists. Do you have any other ideas on how it
might be rectified?
Thanks

Nope, sorry.

Brian,
I would like to know how to set my computer to allow me to access websites
within an email. I had Mozilla, but it crashed and won't work on my
computer. This was the only thing that allowed me to be able to. I use
internet explorer and when I click like 'unsubscribe' I get an error message:
this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on the computer.
Contact the administrator.
Can you suggest anything. Also, I tried to do the web reset, but when I hit
tools, program, there is no reset web settings.
thanks for any help.

Hi Brian,

I tried the old reset the Internet > Tools > Settings etc but it didn't work
for me. I'm still getting the "has been cancelled due to
| restrictions on the computer. Contact the administrator. " message. Could
it be something to do with Registry Settings?

Thanks

It is a registry problelm and that's what resetting the browser should fix.
