I can't access 'my documents' or 'my computer' this problem only started yesterday. I can acess programs and the internet without any problems. I dont get any error messages, they just won't load up.

Did you try running a virus scan? If you can still access the internet, try downloading Adaware and Spybot. They are free and work very well. Let us know if you find anything. This would be the first steps I would take. Now if access were denied that would be a different fix. Have you also tried accessing the files in safe mode?
I have run the virus scan earlier today and it came up with W.32 Blaster worm which has now been cleared but I've still got the same problem. I can access these files through another application i.e microsoft word just not straight from my desktop.
