Whenever I try to right click the properties box for my hard drive (c:), I
see the little timer and then nothing happens. I cannot access it through
computer management either. I would like to check my disk and do a cleanup
but do not know any other way to access them. I have run all programs I have
to check for any viruses and all have been cleared to the best of my
knowledge. My name is the only one on the computer...no one else has ever
logged on but me. I cannot restore to an earlier time as it has been months
since I saw the box. Do you have any idea what went wrong or how I can fix
it?

Go to C:\Windows\System32 Folder. Look for Cleanmgr.exe, Chkdsk.exe
and dfrg.msc These are the tools that
would be accessed through Prop Dialog Box. You could try going to
Start>Run type: sfc /scannow Have your
WinXP CD in the Cdrom drive. This will do a check of your system
files. You can do a chkdsk by clicking on cmd.exe
when in System32 Folder. Then at prompt type: chkdsk.exe /F You
will probably get a message to do it on next
Startup. Say yes or type Y.
