can't access network places folders...

....I have 1 computer and i was able to access my network places folders until
a couple of days ago. Now it says that the folder name is invalid and won't
let me in. The couple of times that it accepted the folder name, it asked for
user name and password but when i entered the same username and password that
i have been using it won't log in...I have no idea about all of the
diagnostic work, im pretty technologically challenged, im sorry...I have no
idea what to do about this.

I's start by looking for a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, or
other security component. There are several other possibilities too, and any
might be the cause of your problem. Read this article with an open mind.

And make sure that NetBT is consistently Enabled on all computers.

Or look at "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", "net config server", and "net
config workstation", from each computer, and diagnose the problem. Read this
article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely (download
browstat!):
