Can't Access Microsoft Exchange Server?

Hello, everyone. I recently had to get a new hard
drive. My PC manufacturer's service group moved my old
drive down to D: and installed a new one as C:. Now the
old merely acts as storage.

Outlook 2002 (XP) was installed, with the rest of Office
on my new hard drive. However, each time I attempt to
open it, I get a message saying that it can't access the
Microsoft Exchange Server. I am prompted to either
retry, work offline or cancel. Retrying begets the same
message. Working offline won't allow me to configure my
e-mail in Outlook or see My Outlook folders. Canceling
closes the program.

Do any of you know how to resolve this issue? I've
uninstalled and reinstalled Office thrice now... to no
avail. I'd greatly appreciate any insight that you may
have.

Create a new mail profile, create an Exchange account, and create a new OST
file to sync to your mailbox.

Hey, Lanwench. I really appreciate your reply, but I
don't know exactly know how to take the steps you've
mentioned. If you don't mind, I'd be greatly appreciative
if you would give me a more detailed description. Right
now, when I try to access the options tab (under Tools),
it's dimmed. Thus, I can't even get to my e-mail account
options.

Hi - OK - are you actually connecting to an Exchange server, or is this
message bogus?

To create a new mail profile, you'd go to control panel, mail, profiles.

Actually, I just got home from my infernal job, and I'm
looking at the message again. I misquoted the program.
I don't know if this makes any difference, but it
says, "Your Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable."

Lanwench (or amybody for that matter), I hope that you
can give me some help.

OK - so do you *have* an Exchange server to connect to, or are you using
Internet mail?

Hi, Lanwench. Thanks for the instructions. One problem
though: I'm still getting the same message. Grrr!
LOL! I promise that I'm not mentally challenged. I
followed your instructions and added a new profile (even
restarted afterward), but I'm still told that my
Microsoft Exchange Server's unavailable. I'm ready to
put my fist through my monitor.
