I just reinstalled XP home (with the delete current windows folder option).
To make a long story short, something was corrupted and it wouldn't boot up
so I did a completely new install. I used to have a copy of XP Pro which is
also why I had to delete the windows folder, at least I thought so.
I had the old user permissions to hide the files from others, no file
sharing. Now, I can't open the old user files - C:\Documents and Settings\me.
How do I fix this, I know my old password, etc but it's not much help because
the old copy of windows is gone. I can't open or copy the folder to get my
old files. Is there some way I could create a new user and get it to use that
folder in the documents and settings with the old password?
Any help appreciated,
Michael
