Can't access help files

This is a tricky one that many have tried to answer so - over to th
experts out there.
Not sure when it occured, but I have not been able to access any o
help files for any of the programs - MS Office/XP Help or third part
etc on my machine. Any time I try to go to a help menu all I get is
blank box! Have cleaned the registry, defraged etc etc but to n
avail.

Help would be greatly appreciated
 
What happens when you open Explorer and go to \windows\help and click on one
of the help files?

In Control Panel > Folder Options > View what program is associated with the
..HLP files?

Since I don't know what you have tried - see "Why doesn't Help & Support

When I click on one the help files i get "Cannot open the file" . Als
in the Control Panel>Folder Options it states that the Hlp files "Open
with Windows Winhlp 32 Stub"

Any ideas
