The trouble all started when I removed Earthlink's
TotalAccess 2004 program from my machine. Once I did that,
things started not working right or at all.
I decided to try to repair Windows, but that didn't work,
so I installed a new copy of Windows XP under another
folder (\WINXP).
I knew I should be able to access my Email and Email
addresses. However, I cannot now access under "Documents
and Setting" my own folder called "\Cecil", which contains
my Email information.
I get messages such as "Not authorized" and I also see
that the folder is READ ONLY attribute, so I removed the
check mark for READ ONLY from that folder, hoping that I
could now access it, but it's a no go. Even though I had
logged in as the Administrator, I still cannot access that
folder.
I believe that this is a security issue, since my former
user name is no longer accessible after the reinstall of
Windows XP. The user name was "Cecil Champenois".
Does anyone have any ideas how I can finally access my
email info from my former folder, "Cecil Champenois",
which is under "Documents nad Settings"?
Thanks,
Cecil
