Susan

I used to be able to insert my media card into the card
reader and the wizard would automatically start and give
me various options of what to do with my images.
However, now when I put the card into the card reader a
folder call DCIM appears and I have to click it open then
I get another folder called Fuji 100 which once opened,
gives me access to my images.
Why has the wizard disappeared and how do I get it back??
I have looked in Start, then Accessories but I cannot
find the wizard anywhere......
I have also tried right-clicking on Removable Disc and
resetting the Autoplay but the wizard will not appear.
Would appreciate help on this.
Thanks

I have scanned the newsgroup and picked information from
various other postings. This combination worked OK for
me:

1/ Utility for Autoplay fix is available at:
http://www.bigblackglasses.com/staff/downloads/autofix.exe

Download and follow the instructions

If this does not work then try:

Open Windows explorer, go to a folder containing photos.
When you place your mouse pointer over a .jpg image or
file name, the first item to be listed in the dialog box
which displays is dimensions of the picture.

It should display like this:

Dimensions: 2048 x 1360 (or other numbers depending upon
the camera you have).
If Dimensions is not a listed item you have lost
functions that XP automatically associates with .jpg
files.

So, try to repair this first :

Click on Start, click on Run and type the following in
the textbox:
REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL
and press Enter

Note that you must have a space between ...32 and SHI...
After doing this, place your mouse pointer over a .jpg
file.

Do you see dimensions listed in the opening textbox ?...
I did.

If you do, try the autofix.exe again.

Then restart the PC and try again when it reboots.

Worked for me. Good luck.

Bingo! I think we are getting somewhere.
There must be some interaction between XP functions for jpg and the Camera
Wizard.
In order to confirm this, can you answer a question?

1. Did you try the autofix.exe before running REGS.....and did it work or
did you have to use REGS.... first, in order for autofix.exe to work.

Yves,

In answer to your question, I used autofix.exe before
running REGS and it didn't seem to work. However, I
hadn't restarted my computer so it might have worked if I
had....I then tried REGS then autofix.exe again then
restarted my computer and the problem was solved, the
wizard came back!!!
I am delighted, thanks to JAC for helping me!!
