When I am creating a new message and I click on the "To" box to look up
address in my address book, I get an error dialog box which says

Microsoft Outlook

The address list could not be displayed. The Contacts folder associated with
this address list could not be opened; it may have been moved or deleted, or
you do no have permissions. For information on how to remove the folder form
the Outlook Address Book, see Microsoft Outlook Help.

OK

Then the "Select Names" dialog box comes up.

If I click on the arrow in "Show names from the: " a series of choices pop
up, all of which say "Contacts". If I click on the last one in the list, my
address book comes up. If I click on any other one, the same error message
comes up again.

What can I do about this?

thanks for any help,

Huck

Go to Tools | E-mail Accounts and remove the Outlook Address Book service.
Restart Outlook, then add it back.

thank you sue. That worked. It seems kind of a miracle that you knew to do
this. Very obscure.
Thanks again,
Huck
