Can't access a particular website - others work fine

Having loaded and then later uninstalled Onspeed, an
internet accelerator (onspeed.com), I now cannot access a
particular website, www.amivo.co.uk. I have confirmed the
website and it's server are operating OK, and I have no
problem with my browser (IE6) on other sites. But each
time I try to access Amivo, I get a 'can't find server'
error. This has persisted several days, so the problem is
at my end. I have tried a different dial-up ISP - no
difference. I have tried typing in the URL, and linking
to the site from other web-pages - same problem. This is
extremely weird. Any ideas?

JP,
Most of these type programs (accelerators) use HOSTS file entries
as part of their program. If the below resolves your problem, either
edit the entries, or get a new HOSTS file.

Symtom: Page cannot be displayed / Cannot find server or DNS Error

In the event you can not access a site and you believe it
may be due to an entry in the HOSTS file.

You can use a simple batch file to rename the HOSTS file "on-the-fly".

You may need to clear your TIF as you may have a corrupt file there.

Close all instances of OE and IE
Control Panel | Internet Options | General tab
Click the "Delete Files" button, when prompted place a check in:
"Delete all offline content", click OK
Click the "Clear History" button, click OK.
Click the Settings button, adjust the TIF size to 50 mb, click OK
