msn passport (e-mail address removed)
my canon multipass will not be recognized by windows xp
home edition.
Canon multipass c555
I have connected it USB and lpt1 printer cable
it will find the hardware but when i go to use it the
code 10 error pops up saying not recognized (think i saw
that in the usb printer support with the little yellow
sign on it )

anyways i have unistalled and reinstalled to death.
this is getting ridiculous.

Hi

I am running a Canon multi pass F 30 with no problem. I am not sure what
issues you are having but here's my story in hopes it will help you. Btw
their is updated XP drivers at the Canon web site

At first I installed the software that came with the unit and then later
went to upgrade. Then the upgraded drivers would not install.

My fix was to completely uninstall the printer from the system. Double check
in the control panel system to make sure there is not a unknown device
listed. If so remove that. then reboot. When XP says new device found and
asks for the drivers direct it to the multipass CD then to the multipass
folder / usbdrv then the win2k folder. Then the usb driver installed. Then I
updated my drivers with no problem .

Hope this helps

Rick

Why did you make this statement? Canon does claim support
for this printer; but I'm having trouble getting it to
work with XP (as suggested below.) Can you point me at
more information? Thanks.

I gave the link to the Canon website where Canon themselves state the
printer is not supported in XP.
