Hi.

Being relatively new to XP I want to connect my camera (Canon IXUS V2) via a
USB connector.

On my last machine, with Windows Me all one did was plug the camera in, and
Windows did the rest, there was no need for any canon software.

Now, Canon provides a disk with (- and in my opinion) lots of "bloatware"
that I do not particularly want. Is it possible to just connect the camera
in like I did with Me?? So far I've tried but can't get the thing connected.
I have also tried the Camera and Scanner wizard which goes so far, then asks
for the Canon install disk and proceeds to (try to) install everything...

Any ideas? Or do I *have* to install the Canon software?

Thanks

Laurie.

Hi,

I use Canon Power Shot S45 and just installed the Canon drivers and ZoomBrowerEX.
It works pretty good.
You can just install the drivers and ignor other softwares that bundled with the Canon CD.
