Canon Canoscan 4200F Flatbed - question about scanning regular text

I am planning on buying this scanner. I will be scanning losts of text
(magazine, newspaper, handwritten pages etc..) can someone tell me how
the clarity is for doing text as opposed to photos?

It is a low end Canon scanner, It is 3200 DPI so you have plenty of
resolution for scanning even 35mm film.

For scanning text, It should do a good job. Most text is scanned at 300-600
DPI.

The real secret to scanning text is learning how to adjust the threshold of
the scan to get the best blacks without the dirt on the paper showing.

As with any new project, there is a learning curve.
