cannot view inbox

In outlook 2003 I cannot view my inbox. It shows 50 new
messages but when I click on the inbox the right screen is
blank. I have tried to change the view settings but
nothing changes. If I go to unread mail I can see all my
new messages.
 
Have you tried to reset the view?

View, Arrange By, Current View, Define Views. Choose the view you're
currently using and click the Reset button.

.I tried that. I just get a blank page with New at the very end

Try starting Outlook with the /cleanviews switch (outlook.exe /cleanviews)
