Cannot view contents of My Computer Folder

No matter how i launch My Computer folder, it opens up only with a grey
screen, i.e. no drive info is shown. Once i click in the folder i then get a
"not responding" error message. However i can explore all my other folders
with no problems.

Any idea why just My Computer folder contents are not displaying ??

Open any folder, and use the "Up" button and see if that works.
If yes, remove, then recreate, the "My Computer" icon on the desktop.

Right-Click a blank space on the Desktop, select "Properties", "Desktop", click the "Customize
Desktop" button, "General" tab, and under the section "Desktop Icons", uncheck the box "My
Computer", Apply, OK. Then go back and recheck it.
