I have IE 6 in a windows 98 SE desktop.

I cannot use IE 6 for weeks. I got the following Error Message
whenever I tried to clicked IE icon.

Error Message:
AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106 ModName: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 4.10.0.2222 Offset: 0000a388

1. how to fix the problem?

Due to lack of disk space, I prefer to uninstall IE 6 completely.
2. how to completely uninstll IE 6? I checked Microsoft site about
uninstall IE but it seemed not work on my computer. At ADD/REMOVE
software window, I have only Add Component or Repair Internet Explorer
options, the Restore to previous configration option is not allowed.
If I follow Repair option, it will just be the same problem after the
computer restarted.

Have you considered adding a second hard disk. This could enable you to keep an updated IE6 and update your Windows 98SE which, unless I am mistaken, lacks Critical Updates.

Hope this helps.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

.

If you aren't using Win 2000 or XP, use IERadicator.
http://www.litepc.com/ieradicator.html

I'm using Win98. Removed IE6 2 days ago. The only problem
is that I don't have Active Desktop anymore, because this
one completely frees the PC from the IE dekstop integration.

The reasons I did this are:
- Other family members uses other browsers anyway (I don't
know why). I myself was a frequent IE user.
- IE crashes a lot. My mother was visiting her bank account
when it crashed and the connection was left open.
- I'm a beginnig web developer. Gotta move on (Netscape,
Amaya, Firefox...).
- Hidden index.dat files. Microsoft people knows what I mean.

Bamse
