Hi

I recently installed SP2. Later i removed it. Since doing this i performed a
system restore and SP2 is present again, yet by clicking remove in the
ad/remove programs list nothing happens, just the link within the programs
list disappears and SP2 remains.

I have tried to use wincleaner to remove it, but this has the same effect.
Is there anyway i can get rid of SP2 please?

Cheers

Hello Calucci,

Simply boot to your WinXP CD and go thru a few screens
and select repair.

Once it is done it will be back to SP1. Don't restore
anymore.

Unfortunately as not. Had to disable it to use partition magic and drive
image. bit of a shame.

As far as Windows is concerned SP2 doesn't actually exist on my system, but
clearly it does with it's pathetic security stuff stuck up your nose at every
turn!

I wouldn't worry about it, i'm getting so peed off with it i'm just gonna
format.

Cheers
