cannot uninstall or remove program

I cannot uninstall or remove a program called ACDSee. When I try using the
uninstall on the program menu or using the control panel remove program, I
get the following message: "standard plug-in missing IDE_ACDStd.apl" .

Go thru the motions of reinstalling ACDSee. Reboot and then uninstall
ACDSee program.

Try thecreator's suggestion. If that does not help, you may try the question
in ACDSee forums. Perhaps you may have to deactivate a Plugin before
uninstalling the program?
