I cannot set Outlook as the default mail client. When I go
to setup a mail profile it opens the Internet Account mail
dialog box.
I have followed MS's articles to set Outlook as the
default client in IE 5.5 SP2, but still no change.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I accidentally stumbled onto a solution, this might help someone: You need to remove outlook express from the computer using remove software on control panel. Then you open the internet explorer and specify outlook as the mail server there. This solved the problem for me.

Any questions, you can mail me at (e-mail address removed)

regards

If you remove Outlook Express, you will create more problems than you are
trying to solve.

Milly: But I am having the same trouble. I have selected Outlook (2000)
from the Control Panel, Internet, Programs, instead of Outlook Express.
Still, Outlook is not receiving mail. The mail is going to Outlook Express.
I have read that Outlook needs Outlook Express to function properly. But
what is going on that I can't get Outlook 2000 as the default mail handler
(receiver?)

Thanks. Scott in Austin MN

I am trying to send "accept" back to this particular computer from an offer
to share the calendar on this particular computer. But Outlook isn't getting
the "accept" message as it is being received by Outlook Express. So I am
unable to get this sharing of the calendar going. I think I need the
"accept" email message to be opened in Outlook 2000 - not Outlook Express.
I'd appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks.
