I'm using Outlook XP (2002) with Windows XP Pro with SP2 and an IMAP account
via dial-up to my national ISP. When I start Outlook and click on the OL
Shortcut imap.blahblah.-inbox my previous emails are displayed. To get new
emails I have to click File -> Connect to imap.blahblah.blah and it update in
excess of 2500 headers. Any new emails are displayed.
However, to my issue, when I send an email I have to click Send/Receive
after having already click Send within the email creation process. It then
displays checking for new mail in subscribed folders; as well as,
imap.blahblah: Folder:Inbox. as well as, impa.blahblah - Sending.
This Sending line never completes (currently it shows Progress about 50% and
Remaining 14 minutes). There is one email with an attachment total size is
214 Kb in the outbox.
If I close Outlook it sometimes (about 1 in 3 attempts) send the
recalcitrant email. If there are several it send only one on each adventure
filled foray.
(I have added Outlook to the SP2 firewall exceptions list, but this didn't
solve my problem.)
