i have a windows XP SP2 client using Office XP that cannot send mail.
Client: Remote windows XP SP2, Outlook from Office XP setup as a pop3.
Connection: T1 ( i have not verified if the ISP has any port restrictions)
mail server: exchange 2000.
The machine is able to send messages with no problem. When a messages it
sent it goes to the outbox and within seconds is gone. The sent folder
reports that the messgae was sent and no errors appear. The server sends
nothing back, however the message never arrives at the destination. I have
even setup outlook express with the same settings and get the exact same
results so that rules out outlook specifically. I have many more clients
using these exact settings with no problem.
My thoughts are that either Windows XP has something to do with it or the
ISP is preventing something. Anyone heard of this?
Thanks
