I am not a beginner with PC's , but I am a beginner with some parts of
networking, since this is the first time I have made a home network. I have
3 WinXP (2 Prof, 1 Home) computers on my network and the network runs fine.
This is more of a quirk than a problem. The machine with WinXP Home on it
cannot see any of the machines on the network or any shared drives. Yet, it
sees the shared Internet Connection, and I can map the drives that are
shared, even though they aren't seen normally. Both of the Professional
machines can see all of the drives and each other. One other thing is that
when I go into my network to where I can see the list of machines on the
network (My Network places, Entire Network, My workgroup), I cannot access
the machine with the shared drives, I get an error stating that it is not
accessible. Is that something that requires me to set up a login in order to
let people to be able to access the machine in that way?
