XP PRO -- I have lost the ability to search from the address bar -- If I type IRAQ, then I get in the address bar the following: http:///? ira
The web page the displays: The page cannot be displayed and the script to detect network setting
I ahve tried reinstalling XP, reinstalling internet explorer, and the following from newsgroup posting

-reinstalling internet explorer
-reset web setting
-regsvr32 urlmon.dl
-rebootin

Go to start > run and type the following

regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 scrrun.dll
regsvr32 msxml.dl
regsvr32 mshtml.dl
regsvr32 shdocvw.dl
regsvr32 browseui.dll
regsvr32 msjava.dl

When I type the regsvr32 msjava.dll, I get a message "the specified module could not be found

If I open the search from the side panel, no problems -- just not working from the address bar

Your help would be appreciated!!!!!!!!!

What setting do you have selected at:

Control Panel | Internet Options | Advanced tab | Search from the Address Bar | When Searching -

You probably do not have the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine installed and that is why you do not have msjava.dll.

I now realize that the link for Sun in that previous article does not work - it takes you back to Microsoft.

I suggest you download Java from this site:

http://www.java.com/en/index.jsp
