I have everything entered right have done it twice now to be sure. Could it
be because I am using a wireless connection through a router? I am using a
desktop that is getting internet from my other computer through a wireless
router. Please help!

Without details we can only speculate on the cause.
If you get an error message, right-click on it, copy, then paste it into a reply here.

I can not send or revceive e-mail using Vist Window Mail or Microsoft Office
Outlook 2007
Vista Windows Mail I get the folowing error message
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'Windows Mail', Server:
'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

The error message you included pertains only to receiving, so I'll
limit my comments to that aspect.
Your Windows Mail receive settings look good. It appears that some
third party security program may be interfering with email. Which antivirus,
anti-spyware and firewall programs are you running?

I am having a similar issue - I am trying to set up a new laptop that has
Windows Vista I have entered my information numerous times to make sure I am
doing it right. It seems to connect but then I get the following:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'pop.gmail.com', Protocol:
POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

I am using Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security.

Can you help? I would be very greatful!!!

crashed i booted back up and cant get my email to work.i can send but not

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop.supanet.com', Server:
'pop.supanet.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error:

Trend Micro is known to be in he top three troublemakers for
Windows Mail, but in this instance the error message reveals
a different reason for your difficulty.

Gmail requires you to enable the SSL option.
Go to Tools, Accounts, select the Gmail account, Properties,
Advanced, check the box for "This server requires a secure
connection (SSL)" (Two places).

Gary,
I am using AVG Version 8.0 as my internet security including email.
My wireless router is new it is Linksys range plus wireless router.

THANK YOU!!! You have no idea how much time I have spent trying to figure
out what was wrong!! I so appreciate your help.

This is the message I get when trying to send mail out. I have still not
gotten any of my mail here either. I have rechecked again and all is typed in
right. I am using nortons virus protection. I hope someone can help.

The host 'pop-server.domain.rr.com' could not be found. Please verify that
you have entered the server name correctly.
Account: 'pop-server.domain.rr.com', Server: 'pop-server.domain.rr.com',
Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error
Number: 0x800CCC0D

You don't have the correct mail server name. The 'domain' part in
'pop-server.domain.rr.com' needs to be substituted with something else.
Roadrunner uses a geographic designation for that part, so it varies
depending on where you live. Check your documentation from Roadrunner,
or tell us what city you live in, and we can look it up for you.

Are you sure Time Warner's Roadrunner is your provider?
I could not find a listing on Roadrunner's site for that city.

Do this. in your web browser go to http://www.whatismyip.com .
Tell us what it says your IP address is. Be sure to include the three
periods. It will look something like 65.123.99.203 .
