Thans for responding.

I get the message in the lower right hand corner that says, "authorizing."
Then it turns to "No New Messages." I check my opotonline account and I DO
have email.

Sometimes a dialogue box flashes on and this says "authorizing" and just as
quickly says, "Disconnecting."

I've tried everything and have asked Microsoft, Gateway, and my provider for
help. No one seems to be able to help.

I hope you can.

What if any antivirus programs do you have? Some of them tend to cause
assorted problems in Windows Mail, although seldom immediately.

In one of the antivirus program families from Symantec, the Norton
family, most versions cause assorted problems with Windows Mail
and must be uninstalled, not just disabled, to stop them from
creating new problems occasionally. I don't know if they copied
the part causing these problems to any other antivirus family they
have; you may consider uninstalling it to find out.

If they did, you should also run this cleanup program:

<http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039>

You may even need to remove your email account under Windows
Mail, then restart Windows Mail and create the account again for
more cleanup.

In this case, let us know if that fixes the problem, so we can tell
other people using the new Symantec antivirus program.

I'm having the same problem without Norton. Email worked for a few days and
now it says disconnecting. Any ideas?

Which antivirus are you using? Did you ever have Norton or
McAfee antivirus installed on that computer?
Do you get an error message? If so, post it.
