I am having problems pinging myself on all the computers in my LAN and on my
own computer. I'm connected to the internet via a D-Link Router, and
currently on Windows XP SP2 Professional. I do have Norton Internet
Security installed on the computer and Windows Firewall is disabled. I've
tried disabling Norton Internet Security and trying pinging myself on my own
computer, but it still doesn't work. I've installed all the Optional
component for my network connection, but still nothing.

Did you configure NIS to trust 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0? A software
firewall, like NIS, may not know which LAN IP address range to treat as
"local" unless configured.
