Cannot open help menu in Word 2002

Clicking on help menu or F1 or office assistant wont open help menu or index.
The office assistant appears but cannot return any searches, just lists which
cannot be opened. This just happened recently. I uninstalled Word first to
no avail, then all of Microsoft Office but this did not help either.
Suggestions welcome! Thanks
