cannot log on

hi everyone
i did a stupid thing from a magazine to speed up the log
on process, i am sure about the password, but when i have
restarted the pc do not accept my password, i am the
administrator, cannot start any help? thank you
 
Restart the computer, and keep tapping F8. When the
choices come up, select safe mode. Then log in as
Administrator and go into the user names. You should be
able to sort out the password there.
