I need to use several web sites at same time and before I could use
several Explorers at once with each site at bottom of screen to clink
on. Now if i load a new Explorer it overwrite the one I am working on.
What changed and how to fix it?

I could be off-base, but..... I believe you refer to 2 issues.
1) The grouping of IE windows on the XP taskbar: Do a right-click on the taskbar. Select Properties. On the Taskbar pane, select "Group similar taskbar buttons".
2) Your IE browser settings:
From its main menu, select Tools > Internet options > Then click on Advanced tab.
Scroll down the list. Check the current selection for "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts". You may have to flip that setting.

That's Internet Explorer. Look at its Options dialog:

Advanced > Uncheck [ ] Reuse windows for launching shortcuts

Control Panel > Internet options > Advanced > uncheck
Reuse windows for launching shortcuts.
