Hello,
We have a remote user who's laptop suddenly crashed. No error message or
anything, it just shut down as if the EU had powered it off.

When he rebooted, he received the error message: "cannot load local profile".

He's able to log onto the laptop w/ his credentials, but he's being
redirected to a "temp" profile (c:\documents & settings\temp) instead of his
actual profile.

All his work is still present, and he can access it, but figure this can't
be a good omen.

Wondering if anyone has any info on this, and any troubleshooting suggestions.

The EU is on Windows XP.

Thanks,

Jim

Thanks. At first glance, I'm not sure if this is going to help in this
situation.

The EU does not have a local account on the machine - though he is a member
of the local admin group.

When a laptop is configured and set up for an EU, we have them log on to the
laptop when connected directly to our network to create the profile, and then
we can configure outlook and Blackberry.

If it's a case of a corrupted profile, then it may work to back up the
current (bad) profile to his user folder on our fileserver, delete the bad
profile and then have him log on again, creating a new one.
