It's discussed quite a bit in this Google Groups archive:
http://groups.google.com/groups/search?q=KB885222&start=0&scoring=d&

"Access is denied" Are you using an Administrators account? If not, a
registry key is doesn't have rights to be changed. You might be running
software that's blocking the registry edits.

One thing you might try is installing it from Safe Mode. Another thing
discussed is a file that's already installed causing the install to
fail. Possibly deleting or renaming that file might allow the install
to continue. The filename is mentioned here:
http://groups.google.com/group/micr...nk=st&q=KB885222&rnum=3&#doc_eaa601c823051d6f

This one mentions a registry key that needs to be added in the MS article:
http://groups.google.com/group/rec....84f?lnk=st&q=KB885222&rnum=3#bf2f1ad64d94384f

Check your laptop's support page for updated drivers too; they should be
aware of the problem caused by the SP2 update.

Doesn,t anybody know the answer to this!

It's possible no one specifically knows the resolution. The people in this
newsgroup are all volunteers sharing their knowledge. Maybe no one has come
across this before.

Access denied error messages are usually do to a permissions issue, or
rather lack of permission, possibly with respect to modifying a registry
key. I did a Google search on this error and saw your posting on this issue
in a different forum and that you are running it an account with
administrator privileges. Have you tried creating a new account with admin
privileges and run it from that one? What about the built in Administrator
account? Have you disabled or checked the settings on any security programs
that might restrict access to the registry?
