I have come across a very strange problem preventing me
from installing Windows XP. Windows setup cannot copy the
files needed for setup. I get the message "The file
xxx.xxx was not copied correctly.
The file Setup placed on your hard disk is not a valid
Windows XP system image..."
I have replaced the hard drive, the CD ROM drive, the
motherboard and used different original CD's - and this
keeps happening! I have installed Windows XP a thousand
times and never seen this before - Can anybody help?

You didn't list the IDE cables, you might give that a try, or if there is
a 40 pin cable on the CD-Rom, try an 80 pin.
