Updated to XP SP2 and after update went back to check
other updates and the Microsoft .net Framework 1.1 SP1
was listed. Upon trying to update, kept receiveing
message from Common Language Runtime Debugging Services
that application (update) has generated an exception that
could not be handled. Clicked cancel to debug application
and another error stating that no debugger found. Even
downloaded update manually and tried to install and
received same error.
Even uninstalled XP SP2 and same result.

You might want to post this to the experts in the Windows Update Newsgroup:

Rock I am having the same problem. I have 4 computers at home all on Windows
XP Pro SP2. 3 took the Net Framework Updates fine except of course for mine.
Did you have any success finding a solution? I have been messing with this
almost a month with no luck. My system works fine, just won't take this 1
update. Let me know please. Rick

:

Rick, I didn't have the problem. The OP did. I just suggested a place
to look for a possible solution. Sorry I can't help anymore.

Here's what you did to fix WHAT?
PLEASE do NOT change the subject line, or start a new thread for the
same post, and QUOTE the post you are replying to. No-one has a CLUE
what you are talking about.
------------------------------------

Please, LET ME CLARIFY, Gordon.
Ready. OK.
Yes Gordon, and every-one(kelly) that didn't have a 'CLUE' what I
meant, was completly right.
I don't know what I was thinking when I named my previous confusing
Subject, "HERE"S WHAT I DID TO FIX IT" in the same THREAD with Posts titled:
"Cannot install .net framework 1.1 SP1".

I just thought that most people, if they were confused, would attempt to
mentally
make a connection(with their mind, far out) between the subject line that
states the problem, "Cannot install .net framework 1.1 SP1" and of course
an obvious solution, "HERE"S WHAT I DID TO FIX IT" <------Keyword- ["Fix"}
the relevance being that (I mentioned in my post) I had the same problem.
But... it was Fixed... with the instructions that I mention below the
subject (The message part) R U getting all this Gordon,
that's right... the magic word for today is: {([CONTEXT
CLUES])} ----Also See: 'common sense'

One more thing, I didn't >"start a new thread for the same post" --- That
is, if you look at the top of this page (look hard) it says: "Posts in this
thread" , meaning that this single topic (that you and everyone else clicked
on to get here...) is called a thread. So, i couldn't and therefore didn't
"start a new thread for the same post".
I apologize if i'm being sarcastic, but it's the best way to make my point
that My post may have been a little unstructured but to not be able to see
any connection whatsoever .... well, it scares me that you acually took the
time to attempt correcting me.
Anyway, My assumption is that you're being serious, so I did my best
to write this(reply message) in a questionably sarcastic tone. j/k? or am I?
j/k, again? I don't get it.
I Simply want to post a little correction notice for all those people who
took my
solution post the wrong way. Thank you, you've been served. haha

HERE"S WHAT I DID TO FIX IT, did not thread along within the original post
in OE. You are posting via CDO, that is a totally different world.
