When I try installing some programs onto my computer, the same message
keeps popping up:

d:\setup.pif
C:\WINDOWS\system32\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for
running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to
terminate the application. (the options are close and ignore, both just make
this pop-up disappear)
What can I do to get programs onto my computer? Thank You for any help!

Hi CJ,

Have a look at the information here:
MS-DOS or 16-bit Windows-based program Error Message
