cannot insert movie clip from file

When I try to insert a movie from a file the office assistant advised me that:

Powerpoint couldn't insert a movie from the selected file. Wither the file
is non-standard or Wuicktime is not installed properly.

I double checked my Wuicktime player and even upgraded. the file is a
standard Quicktime file.

I am able to insert other movies into powerpoint, just not this one. What's
up?
