My hard drive was about to fail last week and I copied
all of my inbox and sent files to a CD-Rom before
replacing the hard drive. I've been able to restore
everything else in My Documents, My Favorites, etc.

But when I attempt to import the inbox backup, I get an
error message that reads, "Errors have been detected in
the file D:\inboxbackup.pst. Quit all mail-enabled
applications and then use the Inbox Repair Tool."

When I attempt to import the sent backup, I get an error
message that reads, "The file sentbackup.pst is not a
personal folders file."

Can anyone help me?

Thanks!
Judith

Have you tried using the Inbox Repair Tool? Also, Outlook can't access a
read-only .PST file...did you move the .PST to your new hard drive and
remove the read-only attribute? Incientally, the best way to do this would
have been to simply copy your original .PST file to a secondary medium and
then reuse it on the new hard drive, rather than using the often unreliable
import/export process.
