cannot get to task manager from cmd..

Hi, Tried doing it one way but that way was from XP Pro, I
have Home...Which was tasklist /?. And what is a GUI?

For XP Home or Pro, in a Command Prompt window, type:

Taskmgr.exe

This also works from the Run dialog. And for your last question, a GUI is
a Graphical User Interface, like the Windows Operating System, or a specific
application can also be considered a GUI, if it replaces command line
utilities to do the same task.
