XL Start is clean, default location is network share, alt
location is cleared.
I cleared the registry of all start items, cleared and
double checked startup folder - same
I renamed the sheet that was being opened on this users
system and same.
Removed/reinstalled office and same.
HELP !!!!!! I'm out of ways to get this silly sheet from
appearing and opening when Excel is started.
Thanks JMo

Are you hoping to launch XL without a workbook? If so, use "EXCEL /e" to
launch XL instead.

If that's not what you're trying to achieve, what is the silly sheet that
appears?

Thank you for your reply sir.
The sheet that appears is an Excel template from the
network share. It opens after the blank start sheet
appears. My goal is to open excel with a blank sheet,
period. No other sheets/wkbks opening when excel starts.
Just a new wkbk with a blank sheet.
Thanks again for any help here.

Have you checked your settings in Tools -> Options -> General -> "At
startup, open all files in..."?

It's called "Alternate startup file location" in XL2000. The OP didn't
mention the version he's using.

(The developers of XL2003 rewrote a lot of the prompts, settings, etc to
make them more understandable.)
