Cannot get into My Computer and others.

It's driving me nuts. Can't find a solution anywhere! I cannot get into My Computer, Recycle Bin, and Internet Explorer from the icons I have on the desktop. I also cannot load any new programs or run setup. I have not been able to change settings. I cannot access My Pictures or My Music or My Documents from the desktop icon OR by hitting the Start button, then the i con there either. I can only access those files by opening a new email, as if I'm going to write one, clicking Attach File, then browsing through the files. I was given the advice that I should reinstall the operating sysem, but the computer is not letting me do that either. Any help would be appreciated.

You've got a virus. get a virus scan program and remove any and all that are found.

They provide one, just make sure you update the dat file before you run it.

While your at it , it wouldnt hurt to run spybot and ad-aware.
