An access 2000 database is used by a number of users on a windows xp
professional machine. Users logon to the machine using their own
individual windows login name and password. The database is in a
folder acccessible by all users. One of the users reported that the
built-in toolbar disappeared fro the screen. I cannot get built-in
toolbar back for this particular user. For all the other users i can
make the built-in toolbar appear and disapear by ticking and unticking
the 'Allow built-in toolbars' via tools->stratup menu. Any help on
this will be appreciated.

Firstly, check that the Access 2000 has been updated with all Service
Releases / Service Packs. The original release is just too bugsy to use ...

If the use still has the Menu Bar, use the command View / ToolBars /
Customize ... to open the Customize Dialog.

In the ToolBars tab, click each ToolBar in turn and then hit the Reset ...
button.

After that, try your method.

BTW, you can hold the Shift key down while opening the database to bypass
the Start-up option (uless the AllowBypassKey property has been set to
False).

If it still doesn't work, you may need to "Detect and Repair" this Access
installation.
