"Cannot Find sndvol32.exe"

When trying to use/test a mic, Windows shows the
error "Windows cannot execute Sndvol32.exe, use
Add/Remove Programs control panel to install." Anyone
have any suggestions on what causes this error and have
detailed steps on how to correct?

Hello : I had the same problem a few week ago , What I did with xp pro
was I went into C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 and deleted the sndvol32.exe file ,
around 3 seconds later the system made a new sndvol32.exe file ... It
worked after that ... weird but true .... Total
