"Cannot find SHELL.DLL" - Please help explain what this
error is and what needs to be done to correct it.

Using Win XP on a Compaq Evo N610c laptop.

Shell.dll is a library file with all your windows icons

in it. XP needs this file to assign an icon to your
windows programs. It is situated in your windows xp
system32 folder. If it is missing, simply replace it with
the file on your xp cd or copy this file from another xp
machine to your system32 folder.
