HELP!!!

I am stuck ... I get the above message when I launch IE6
on XP Home. I have run CW Shredder and Spybot. I have
run Trend Micro online and Panda Software online. I
removed many viruses as well as parasites and have
failed. MSN Explorer does work and that is how I was
able to get this far. I log on as a guest with my
hotmail address.

I did a inplace repair(upgrade) of the OS, and still
nothing.

I have a good IP connection and IPCONFIG releases and
renews.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I have run CW Shredder and Spybot.

Not Ad-Aware and not HiJackThis! ?

Does it make any difference to turn off
Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart)
(Options, Advanced tab, Browsing section)

MSN Explorer does work

So it probably is not a DNS problem. (Unless you are using a HOSTS
file to block a spyware site which might actually work as intended otherwise.)

So it most likely is a malware problem. Rename your HOSTS file
and flush your dnscache (in a command window: ipconfig /flushdns)
to make sure that your DNS has full responsibility for lookups.

BTW a tool which may help you determine if your malware problem
is caused by an unavailable spyware site is: Port Reporter
