There is 1 machine on the network that is having trouble connecting to the
server in Outlook 2003.
If I configure the settings and test them without Outlook being open, it
connects without a problem and sends and receives the test email.
However, when I open Outlook and test the settings, it says that it either
cannot find the Pop3 or Smtp server or that it cannot find the network.
I can telnet to the mail server from that machine so there is no problem
with the network. I've tried the internal address for the mail server, the
external address for the mail server, but nothing is working when Outlook is
open, it only works when I test it and Outlook is closed. Has anyone seen any
symptoms like this before?
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling office and running repairs but to
no avail.
Is there an Office 2003 eraser tool like the one for Office 2000? Perhaps I
can try that...?
Thanks
